Crown of Moctezuma

The Crown of Moctezuma is a multi-part quest in "Pirates and Traders".
Starting the Quest
The quest start is found in the tavern (looking for trouble).
The prerequisite for starting the quest is that your character has at least five years of experience, so don't even worry about looking for this until 1665 at the earliest.
In addition, you will only receive the quest in a country that (sort of) trusts you, meaning that you must hold a letter of marque with that country.
The quest start is random, so there is no guarantee that you will see this quest immediately. Visit the tavern repeatedly (travel between different friendly ports to "refresh" the quests) if you are very eager to get the mission started.
Tips and Hints
- Crown of Moctezuma is a multi-part story, meaning that it features several missions.
- You can turn down any mission right at the beginning without any ill effects. So if you're not quite ready to start a mission, this is always an option.
- Once you've started the mission by talking to the characters, turning down the mission will end the storyline permanently for that character. So be sure that this is what you want.
- You will face personal combat. Make sure that you are well-armed and/or have put some skill points into personal combat skills.
- You will face heavy opposition from enemy shipping. Don't attempt this until you have a powerful ship.
